A map of any repository
Paste a GitHub address and ask for a map; the assistant reads the code and draws its main parts and how they connect.
Open a concept, down to its lines
Press a concept to see what it is made of, then a box to read its lines; a drawing that points at code that is not there is refused and drawn again.
What you understand stays yours
Keep what you take from the code as notes filed under the repository, explained against what you already know.
Catch up on what changed
When the repository moves on, the assistant explains what changed since you last read it, against your notes, and lists the notes whose lines moved.

Before you start
Which repositories can it read?
Any public repository on GitHub from its address, and private ones once you connect your GitHub account through our read-only app: what you can open is what GitHub lets you see. A repository over 1 GB is refused, and a file over 1 MB or a binary file is listed but not shown.
Can I trust the diagrams?
Before a note from the assistant is saved, each link in it must reach a file and lines that exist at the commit you are reading, and any line it quotes must be on those lines. What a sentence or a label says about the code is not checked and can be wrong, so the code stays one press away; check what matters against it.
Does Codiscover change my code?
No. It only reads: our GitHub app asks for read access and nothing else, and Codiscover has no way to write to a repository, open a pull request or run your code.
What happens to my private code?
A copy of the commit you are reading is kept in your account's own storage for up to 32 days, then read again from GitHub when you next open it. Parts of it go to the model that runs the assistant only when you use the assistant, and no model is trained on them. Removing the repository or deleting your account deletes the copy.
Does it show who wrote the code?
No. Codiscover follows the code, not the people: a commit is its message, id and date, with no blame, contributor list or figures per person. A name written inside a file or a commit message is shown as written.
Which languages does it explain in?
Any of ten: English, Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish. Code is always shown as written.
What does Codiscover keep?
The repositories you add, your notes, your conversations with the assistant, and what it remembers about you, which Settings lists for you to read or delete. Deleting your account erases everything of yours.
Is Codiscover part of GitHub?
No. Codiscover is an independent app that reads repositories through GitHub's public API and links each file back to it; GitHub does not endorse it.
What happens when the free use ends?
Nothing is deleted: repositories, code, search and your notes stay free; the assistant needs the plan. An account that never had a subscription is deleted after a month unused.
Is what I put in used to train AI?
No. The AI runs at Anthropic, on Cloudflare's servers or at a model host we name, and none of them trains a model on what you put in.
Can I delete everything?
Yes. Deleting your account in Settings erases everything in it at once; backup copies are deleted within 30 days.
